Well as soon as you connect it up to your network via router, you can check in the printer or the router.

Dean thank you for your help.  There are two short (less than 10 page) documents that come with the printer.  They are just about one step above worthless.  Nothing in the material tells me how to set the wifi.  I finally found it on the display panel.  Nothing describes the dispay panel or how you set passwords and such.  I could not believe it when my congratulations certificate came out of my printer with the printer name.  Unbelievable!  Then I still had to get my Chrome notebook to accept the printer.   I still have a few more steps to do so that I do not have to go to three sites in order to print one document.  I do appreciate your response  You did get me out of my frustration and start pushing buttons.  Thank you!

I assume you have downloaded and read the User Guide from the HP web site yes?
