Hi,
You may use WiFi Firect when not connected through the router, but the printer need to be configured on your PC for a such.
Connect the the WiFi Direct network from your PC.
From the Control Panel click View Devices and Printers.
Click Add Printer and add a 2nd queue of your printer through the WiFi direct connection, the printer should be listed with the WiFi Direct address.
Now try printing with the newly added port which is set via a WiFi Firect connection.
The same print queue cannot be used for both your home network or via WiFi Direct as the printer IP Address changes from your home network to the WiFi direct connection, your original queue is set to print through your home network..
