HP LaserJet Pro M15w

The blue WiFi light on my printer will not turn on. When I reboot the printer, the blue light comes on briefly but then turns off. I've tried any number of button presses to enable the wireless option again but it isn't working.

When I print the configuration report for the printer under wireless network configuration it says:

Status: Not Connected

Wireless: Off

Hi @rocksies,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the blue WiFi light on your HP LaserJet Pro M15w is not staying on, and the configuration report indicates that the wireless status is "Off," there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • Make sure that the wireless settings on the printer are correctly configured.
  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the wireless menu and verify the wireless settings such as SSID (network name) and password.

Restart the Router:

  • Sometimes connectivity issues can be resolved by restarting your wireless router. Turn off the router, wait for about 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. Once the router has fully restarted, check if the printer can connect to the wireless network.

Reconnect to the Wireless Network:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the wireless menu.
  • Select the option to reconnect to the wireless network.
  • Enter the correct wireless network password if prompted.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure that there is no interference from other electronic devices or neighboring networks. Move the printer closer to the wireless router to improve signal strength.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware may address connectivity issues.

Factory Reset:

  • If the issue persists, you may try performing a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase all customized settings. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,

Thank you so much for your response. I have attempted the troubleshooting steps you have provided but my printer still shows wireless off.

Check Wireless Settings:

  • Make sure that the wireless settings on the printer are correctly configured.
  • On the printer control panel, navigate to the wireless menu and verify the wireless settings such as SSID (network name) and password.
    • I do not have a control panel. I only have three buttons on the left side of the printer. zJY6PsdqRFL2aDTyWFVeeD.jpg

Restart the Router:

  • Didn't work.

Reconnect to the Wireless Network:

  • No visiable control panel.

Check for Interference:

  • It is not reading any wireless signal and that the wireless and Wi-Fi Direct are disabled.

Update Firmware:

  • Installed firmware update from HP website for HP LaserJet Pro M15w.

Factory Reset:

  • Completed factory reset.

I don't know if there is a software solution for this issue. It might be a hardware issue. I have a cat and he may have pressed some buttons walking around on my desk.

The blue wireless light comes on briefly when the printer is power cycled but then it turns off and remains off no matter what I press or how I press it.

The config report that the printer prints says that wireless is not connected, turned off, and WiFi Direct is disabled.

I hope you have more ideas!
