hello. we're having some issues with the printer. it won't print sent pdf file. We are using the hp smart app to print, it will show processing but then it will stop and won't print at all. We can print printer reports to test connection but when we try to print the pdf file that's what happens. Only thing is, the other ink cartridge is almost empty but the other one (the black) is still 80% full. We connect with the printer via wifi direct. Any help highly appreciated.

@KayeBelle, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
From which device are you trying to print?
If you are using wifi-direct, the PDF file you are trying to print should be saved on the device. There will be no internet access on the device while using wifi-direct.
You will be only able to print the saved files to the printer.
For more info, refer to - Printing with Wi-Fi Direct.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

From the cellphone. It turns out we have to switch back the settings from black to color eventhough there's no more colored ink. Im referring to the the settings' where you are trying to print, i think it's the document settings.

Are you using an Android?
This printer supports printing in single-cartridge mode. Remove the color ink cartridge from the printer and try printing in black.
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Use the HP Smart app to print from your Android device. Refer to this document to know how to print.
Let me know how this goes.
