My mac connects to the Internet wirelessly, and my hp printer connects to my Mac using wifi, but not at the same time. When I want to print something I have to disconnect from the wireless internet, and connect to my printer. I'm sure there is a simple solution, I'm just not very good at network / connection related issues. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Seems as your printer is disconnected from your home network.

Temporary connect your Mac to your printer, then open Safari.

Click teh Safari menu and select Preferences.

Within the Advanced tab, check both of the options to include Bonjour and confirm.

Now click on Bookmarks > Bonjour and double click your printer.

Withint he shown page, select the Network / Wireless tab and look for Wireless / Wireless Setup Wizard.

From there select your router's name and follow the steps to connect the printer.

Once the printer been connected to yoru home network, reconnect your Mac to your home network and try printing.

Sounds like you have Wireless Direct turned on. Turn off Wireless Direct in the printer. Now connect your printer to your routers SSID with password.
