Will print demo pages fine, will not print anything sent from the computer-- Connectivity

This problem started when I changed wifi routers:


I have repeated trouble connected to my printer, but I can connect using the HP Smart app. I can print demo pages, full color, and they look fine. But whenever I send something from my computer (through the HP Smart app and not), it will print one or two pages with just a few lines of code (random letters and numbers) and then repeatedly spit out blank pages. The blank pages will not stop, as I have let it go until I was out of paper. I end up cancelling the print job. 


Please help! I have searched high and low and think this has to be a connectivity issue, but I can't resolve it.

Check the settings before you send the print job. Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) for help.


ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac 


Remove and add the printer

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.


Select printer and click the minus sign

Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint


Select AirPrint from the Use menu


Click Add to add the printer to the list.

Try to print.
