Hi @KLLR

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your Apple iPhone to your laptop and retrieve pictures and other files, you can use the following methods depending on your laptop's operating system (Windows or macOS).

For Windows Laptop

There are multiple ways to connect your iPhone to a Windows laptop. Here's the best and most common method:

1. Using USB Cable (via File Explorer)

Connect iPhone via USB:

  • Use the lightning cable that came with your iPhone to connect it to a USB port on your laptop.
  • Ensure the cable is in good condition to avoid connection issues.

Trust the Device:

  • On your iPhone, when prompted, tap Trust on the message asking if you trust this computer.
  • You may also need to enter your iPhone's passcode.

Access Files via File Explorer:

  • Open File Explorer on your Windows laptop.
  • In the left sidebar, you should see your iPhone listed under "This PC" as a device (it will show as Apple iPhone).
  • Click on the iPhone, and navigate to the DCIM folder (this is where your photos and videos are stored).
  • You can now copy/paste, drag, or move your photos to your laptop.

2. Using iCloud for Windows

If you prefer to avoid a physical connection, you can use iCloud to sync your photos and other data wirelessly.

Install iCloud for Windows:

  • Download and install iCloud for Windows from the Apple website.

Sign In with Your Apple ID:

  • Open iCloud and sign in with the same Apple ID used on your iPhone.

Enable Photo Syncing:

  • Check the box next to Photos to enable syncing. You can choose to download all photos or just specific albums.
  • Your photos will sync to the iCloud Drive folder on your PC, and you can access them through File Explorer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
