HP DeskJet 3630 All‑in‑One Printer Series

Hi,

I cancelled my subscription, not realising the ink cartridges would no longer work.

I can I join up again. None of the screens seem to allow me to do this.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂

I understand that you would like to re-enroll for the instant ink service for your HP DeskJet 3630 All‑in‑One Printer. Welcome aboard.

You will have to go through the enrollment process to have your printer on the instant ink service plan once again. This HP document will help you to enroll for the instant ink service.

I sincerely hope this information helps. Please feel free to keep me posted for any further questions.

Cheers! 🙂

What is Instant Ink?

  • Instant Ink Service is not "free ink".
  • Instant Ink Service is a print-by-page subscription service that includes ink supplies during the time the Instant Ink Service contract is active.
  • Please see HP Instant InkFAQ > How does Instant Ink Work

You are correct -- once the service is cancelled, you should have removed all the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer and sent them back to HP.

The printer itself is not locked -- the Instant Ink cartridges no longer work because the cartridges are locked to the service.

Caveat / Edits

I doubt rejoining the Instant Ink Service can / would unlock the cartridges that are already in the printer (and have been locked).  I suspect these cartridges can no longer be used.

An explanation of Instant Ink cartridge use is included in the Terms of Service document.

For example:

HP Instant Ink - USA - Terms of Service

Lots of important information and definitions, including:

#  4:  Printer Needs to be Connected to Internet

#  5: INSTANT INK PROGRAM CARTRIDGES PROVIDED TO YOU (Read this one!)

And

#  6:  INSTANT INK PROGRAM CARTRIDGES MUST BE RETURNED TO HP BY YOU (Read this one!)

#  7:  Service Plans -- What is a page? (Read this one!)

#  8:  Rollover Pages

#15:  Cancellation

Leave (stay out) of Instant Ink Service

Remove the Instant Ink cartridges - purchase cartridges for your printer.

HP SureSupply can help you find the correct cartridges for your printer.  Many regions (at least in the USA) provide super fast (and Free) shipping.  You can also purchase your HP ink at any reputable local or online store in your area.

OR

Re-enroll with Instant Ink Service.

Reminder:  IF you were enrolled in the 15-page "free" plan, you cannot re-enroll in that plan.  See the explanation in the Terms of Service document.

It might be easier for you to contact HP Instant Ink Support in your region and ask for help to re-enroll and set up your subscription.

OR

If the service was cancelled a while ago, simply sign up to the service and pick your plan.

@catriona85

Hi, When you cancel your account you have until the end of your billing cycle before it's actually cancelled so you can always go back into your Instant Ink account at Instantink.com and hit the "keep Enrollment" button on the front page and this will reverse your cancellation.

If you cancel and pass the end of the billing cycle then the "Keep Enrollment" button will not be on your account and you will have to re-enroll.

So take a look on your account to see if your still in your billing cycle and can keep the enrollment.

Hope that helps.
