Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Have you installed the app named "HP Print" yet? You can find it in the Chrome Web Store on your Chromebook. Once installed, you "Add a printer" then enter the IP address assigned to it from your network. (This assumes you have correctly installed the printer wirelessly onto your network).
Can you print to it wirelessly from another device? A Windows PC perhaps?
The first time you try to print something, look at the "Destination" setting in the window that opens. You will need to change it from "Save as PDF" to your printer.
Be sure you are not using the "Wireless Direct" option in the printer!
Here's a link from HP explaining how to use it. It works perfectly for me!

re: chromebook connect to printer.
I couldn't get my printer to print either. turns out my printer is wireless capable (but not Cloud Capable) the only way i could get my printer to print from my chromebook was to
1.turn on the printer
2. turn on wireless printing from the touchscreen on the printer.
3.tap the wireless print icon.
4. a wireless printing window came up with a "settings" button and a "print report" button.
5.i tapped "print report". and the printer printed out a page of network settings, general info etc.
6. i cliked icon on launcher on my chromebook
7clicked on hp print for chrome
8 clicked add printer . popup window opened. i typed in the abbreviated name . and printer IP address from the report I printed out. ex: c310 345.654.3.987 i clicked the + button on the popup window where i just entered all this info.
9 closed popup window
10. clicked launcher.
11. opened files from the launcher window.
clicked on a file. clicked the text in the tool bar at top of window that says OPEN.
12 The file opened. (photo in this case)
13. at the top of the photo i opened several icons appeared on the photo window itself when i moved the cursor arrow on top of the photo. one was a printer icon.
14. i clicked on the printer icon...it printed a copy of the photo.
only 14 steps!!! don't know if you can use this. good luck.
good luck
