I have an HP Envy 4520 printer connected to my HP PC desktop.  I just purchased a Mac Catalina desktop and would like to know if I can use the same printer.  Can I connect it to my new Mac and use the same printer for both computers ?

If you put the 4520 on your wireless network you would be able to print from both the Windows and the macOS clients.

On the macOS side the 4520 supports AirPrint.  You can easily set up and print to the 4520 without installing any drivers.

You can also use HP Smart to access the scanner and other features of the printer.

You can get HP Smart from the Mac App store which is linked from here.

The problem is that my HP desktop is an old computer using Windows 7..too old to upgrade to Windows 10..I think there may be a problem trying to configure the old HP to accept wireless connection to printer  ie not being able to download appropriate software...So I wanted to know if it is possible to maintain the connection with the USB cable to the printer and at the same time connect wireless to the Mac ??
