I have a Deskjet Plus 4155. Remote printing (e-Print) and printing from my iphone suddenly stopped working, I didn't change anything. It just stopped. I can print from my PC. All my settings are correct. EWS is telling me e-Print is enabled. The printer and iphone are on the same wireless network. It just stopped working.

Hi @Craveking,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- Was there any update on your iPhone or on the printer recently?
- Which iOS version is running on your phone?
- Which application are you using on your phone to print?
- Have you tried printing normally from your phone?
- Do you get any error messages on the iPhone?
While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the firmware
- Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
- Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
- Update software on iOS
Disable and Enable e-print from the EWS page once. Reference Document: HP Printers - Turn On Web Services
Print with AirPrint and check
- Open the app that you want to print from.
- To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon oror tap .
- Scroll down and tap or Print. If you can’t find the print option, check the app’s User Guide or Help section. Not all apps support AirPrint.
- Tap Select Printer and choose an AirPrint-enabled printer.
- Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
- Tap Print in the upper-right corner.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

To assist better:
- Was there any update on your iPhone or on the printer recently? iOS 15.6; Apple has frequent updates and I can't tell you if this problem was related to an iOS update.
- Which iOS version is running on your phone? iOS 15.6
- Which application are you using on your phone to print? HP Smart
- Have you tried printing normally from your phone? Yes and I get asked for a user name (which is filled in as "guest" by default and password. I have never seen this log in screen before to access my printer
- Do you get any error messages on the iPhone? Yes. When using HP Smart to print, it sees the correct printer and then fails to print. I can scan from my iPhone but cannot print. This is very perplexing. The error message is error while printing. I get the option to reprint and same message again.
The firmware is correct. I do get a message that the app is seeing more than one router with the same wifi name but I only have one router which supports the typical two bandwidths, 2.4/5. I'll try the power drain and Airprint solutions and get back to you. Thanks.

I also downloaded the latest firmware update and when the app asks me to check the box for my printer, it won't allow me to check the box. Unbelievably frustrating.
I have to tell you, this is completely unacceptable, I have spent at least 4 or 5 hours working on this issue. Nothing works. How can I scan from my iPhone but not print? Same app. That's the basic question.

I can print using AirPrint. I cannot print using the HP Smart App. The error I get says there was a problem during printing. Check the printer and try again. I’ve done all the power drain steps. The firmware was updated. I always have the latest iOS version. Why would it print with a random AirPrint app but not your own app?
