Hi

I'm trying to print emails from my MacBook.  The emails are on aol mail.

I get the header but nothing else.

I've printed  page from a website with no problem so it seems to be some sort of connection issue.

Hi

I changed the black ink on my 6500A plus but it now wont print from email attachments or emails but if I take a screen shot of it and then print the screen shot works fine.  Did test pages no black just the colour boxes at the bottom.  Any suggestions.  I read one about "click the start menu" and it had some instuctions but I am on a Apple desk top and not very computer savy.  I have done cleaning but only thing that did was use up my ink.

Any suggestions 😊would be great

Thanks

@Caroleq

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the emails won't print,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you print a test page to identify the issue?

Does the copier work as a stand alone printer?

While you respond to that, I recommend you print using the black copy feature and if it doesn't print normally, it could be an issue with the black ink cartridge, I suggest you replace the same and try again.

Keep me posted,

If I have helped you resolve the issue,

Feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon

Followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'

And Have a great day ahead!

Thanks for the reply.  yes I printed the test page and all you can see is where the colour is printed nothing else.  I don't know what you mean by "use the black copy feature".  If I take a screen shot of something then print the screen shot it works just fine.  Does that make any sense?

thanks again

@Caroleq

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

Yes, that does make sense and that said, I have attached a copy of your printer control panel to help you select a B&w printout using the copier, basically as a stand alone printer without it being connected to the computer to check if it's able to print black:

To Copy pages and Print in black only:

1. Load the original print side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass.
2. Specify the number of copies and settings.
● From the Home screen, touch Copy. Flick to the desired number of copies.
● If the value for the 2–Sided option is 1:2, touch to select 1:1.
● Touch (Settings) to specify paper size, paper type, quality, or other settings.
● Touch (Back) to return to the Copy screen.
3. Touch Black or Color to start the copy job.

If the prints using the above procedure are still not black,
It could be a Hardware failure and I recommend you reseat the Black ink cartridge and wait for the alignment process to complete before you check if the printer works fine.

That said, If the black copy works fine as did the prints using the browsers, it is an issue with the email attachments or the application you are using to obtain the emails, you may want to reinstall the App and/or Contact the manufacturer of the Application.

If I have helped you resolve the issue,

And Have a great day ahead!

Hi  I tried just copying in black and the page was blank.  I took the ink out put it back in waited and tried again still nothing.

What do I do now that it might be a hardware failure.  Does that mean a new printer?  I don't want to pay for another black ink to try they are expensive

Thanks
