Thanks for the additional info, but coincidently we were having another problem with our telephone. Comcast sent a tech for that problem. Mentioned my printer problem and after some investigation he determined our router had gotten screwed up some how ( his explanation was more technical). He corrected that problem and the printer was also resolved. Also, what I referred to as a MAC ID number was not. MAC stands for something else. You probably know what.
So thanks again for your assistance. Sorry to have troubled you.

Hey there! @ArtS1942, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you need to know how to change computer displayed on your printer.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Try restoring the network to defaults on your printer and check if it helps.

On the printer control panel go to settings wireless settings select restore network defaults.

Once you perform network defaults try connecting the printer to the network.

Connect the printer to your network with the Wireless Setup Wizard so the HP installer can find the printer during the installation.
Turn on the printer if it is not already on.
On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
The Wireless screen displays.
Touch the Settings icon.
Touch Wireless Setup Wizard, then follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.

Refer this article to know more information about Wireless Printer Setup.

Let me know if this works!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Thanks, but it didn't work. On printer display still shows "MAC: A0-8C-FD-BC-DE-F0".

@ArtS1942, It's great to hear from you again.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

It looks like you have not connected to the correct network, Try connecting your printer to right network.

If you have a dual band router, make sure it is set to the 2.4 GHz band. If your router is set to the 5 GHz band, the printer cannot connect to the network.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any error states present during the printer setup.
   NOTE:
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
Disconnect the power cord from the router.
Turn off the printer.
Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.
Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.
Turn on the printer.
Turn on the computer.
Try installing the HP driver and software again.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot printer not found during network setup issues.

Let me know how it goes!

Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂
