Hi @CookieRed,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP printer to a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps.

For Most HP Printers with a Control Panel

Power On Your Printer: Make sure the printer is turned on.

Access the Wireless Settings:

  • Navigate to the Setup or Settings menu on the printer’s control panel.
  • Select Network or Wireless Settings.

Choose Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • Look for an option called Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
  • This will search for available networks.

Select Your New Network:

  • From the list of available networks, select your new Wi-Fi network.
  • If prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password. Ensure you enter it correctly (case-sensitive).

Confirm Connection:

  • After entering the password, the printer should attempt to connect to the network.
  • You should see a confirmation message on the screen once connected successfully.

For HP Printers without a Control Panel

If your printer doesn't have a control panel, you can use the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) method if your router supports it:

  1. Press the WPS Button on your Wi-Fi router.
  2. Press the WPS Button on the printer. This may be labeled as a WPS button on the printer, or you may need to access the wireless settings via the software.
  3. Wait for the printer to connect to the network.

Using HP Smart App

If you have the HP Smart app installed on your smartphone or computer:

  1. Open the HP Smart App.
  2. Ensure your device is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
  3. Select your printer from the app.
  4. Go to Printer Setup or Printer Settings.
  5. Follow the prompts to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Reset Network Settings: If you're having trouble connecting, you may need to reset the printer's network settings. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. This can often resolve connectivity issues.

Once your printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network, try printing a test page to confirm that everything is working correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
