Hi @CookieRed,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP printer to a new Wi-Fi network, follow these steps.
For Most HP Printers with a Control Panel
Power On Your Printer: Make sure the printer is turned on.
Access the Wireless Settings:
- Navigate to the Setup or Settings menu on the printer’s control panel.
- Select Network or Wireless Settings.
Choose Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Look for an option called Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
- This will search for available networks.
Select Your New Network:
- From the list of available networks, select your new Wi-Fi network.
- If prompted, enter your Wi-Fi password. Ensure you enter it correctly (case-sensitive).
Confirm Connection:
- After entering the password, the printer should attempt to connect to the network.
- You should see a confirmation message on the screen once connected successfully.
For HP Printers without a Control Panel
If your printer doesn't have a control panel, you can use the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) method if your router supports it:
- Press the WPS Button on your Wi-Fi router.
- Press the WPS Button on the printer. This may be labeled as a WPS button on the printer, or you may need to access the wireless settings via the software.
- Wait for the printer to connect to the network.
Using HP Smart App
If you have the HP Smart app installed on your smartphone or computer:
- Open the HP Smart App.
- Ensure your device is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
- Select your printer from the app.
- Go to Printer Setup or Printer Settings.
- Follow the prompts to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting Tips
- Reset Network Settings: If you're having trouble connecting, you may need to reset the printer's network settings. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
Once your printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network, try printing a test page to confirm that everything is working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
