HP office jet 8022

I recently bought the HP Office jet 8022 all in one printer. I followed the set up prompts, got to the part where I needed to download the hp smart app. I can't find my printer in the app to add, can't connect to my wifi through the printer setup wizard or through my phone and laptop. Each error report shows no filter - failed. Only suggestions given to me is to make sure my mac address filtering is allowing the printer through the network. I checked my router's settings and Mac address filtering is off, so there should be no issues with anything security related. I've checked my wifi, it's at full strength running 45mbps on 2.4g and 250mbps on 5g. All of my devices in my home are connected with no issues, I've even tried resetting the router, unplugging the printer, and resetting the network settings, but nothing is working. It simply won't connect.

@MVance71, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the printer is not connected to the wireless network. To assist you better, which device are you using to print?

Let us try these steps:

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
