I was hoping someone could help me with another issue on my HP Photo smart 7520. I tried to setup web services on the unit, but it doesn't want to connect. After some research online I've tried a couple of solution without any luck. I've tried all of theses steps.
- First, make sure the printer firmware is up to date. If you are unsure, go to http://hp.care/2dTA5Lp and install the firmware.
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Maybe someone might have an idea how to get web services working so I can print the claim code and add the printer to my hp web services email account. Thank you!

@ryoakes, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are trying to enable web services on the printer. Make sure the printer is connected to the internet.
- Obtain the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless icon on the printer screen.
- Go to Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the top address box and hit enter.
- If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
- Look for web services, disable and re-enable it to get a new code.
For more info on enabling web services, refer to the document - Turn On Web Services
If you are still facing issues, refer to the steps on this article - Cannot Connect to Web Services
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have not been able to enable web services from the start. Web services says "Unable to check for Firmware Update." I've installed the latest firmware from the HP website and verified it in the EWS tools tab. I've double checked all my network settings in both the printer and my router. I tried all the suggestions in the links you sent, but web services still won't connect or it asks for a proxy server, which I am not using. Any other ideas?

This might require remote access to your computer to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
- Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
I hope that helps.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
