HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer

I am trying to change the email address on my HP photosmart 7520 all in one printer. I have installed the HP smart app on my computer, and added the printer to the app as you can see in the first screen shot below. But when I go to my web account where I would change the address, my account is showing 0 printers. So my first issue is how do I get my account to see the printer? Than how do I change the email address?

HP Smart sees your printer but I suspect the printer is not online or was never "registered"

Bring up your HP account dashaboard

https://support.hp.com/us-en/dashboard

Is the printer listed if not try logging out and then back in

HP Smart also needs to be able to log into your account.

Did you get a new email?  You need to create a new account and register the printer.

This can be a problem if you have an instant ink account and it has the old email.

Let me know if you had an instant ink account.

I do not have an instant ink account. I tried logging out and logging back in. when I went to the link you provided I enter my serial number to register the device I get en error message " Please enter a valid serial number" I read something about fixing that by at the printer control panel going to Tools and restore factory defaults but that did not help. I am sure I am entering the correct serial number but I still get the error"Please enter a valid serial number".

Any other ideas?

Unless I'm mistaken HP only accepts the serial number from the printer directly.  I don't think you can enter it in manually.

Make sure you have the latest HP Smart

get HP Smart from the microsoft store . You will have to sign into HP Smart using your HP account. The latest version as of Jun, 2024 is 154.2.1072.0 (USA English). If you do not have this version then go to the Microsoft store, find HP Smart, and click "update". If the button "update" is missing then you need to run "wsreset" from the Windows search bar.

The   HP support assistant should be able to find the printer.

Thank you for the input. Your suggestion should have worked, but it did not. This is the same problem I have been having. no mater if I manually input the serial number I get an error that my serial number is invalid. if I use the "detect my Devices"  button it finds the printer (see below), but when I try to "add the device" it found I get the same error message the serial number is not a valid serial number. One other thing I red might help: I did try was "factory" resting the printer from the control panel. the message on the control panel said it had rest but it still seemed to be set up on my network and the settings were still the same. So if I can find a way to actually reset it to factory new that might cure the problem.

Either way thanks for trying
