iPhone WIFI set up for M234dwe printer

I just purchased a refurbished HP M234dwe printer and am having trouble adding the printer to my iphone for WIFI printing. (Set up on Macbook Pro was successful.) The instructions say to go to Settings and select HP-Setup, but this is not an option. Instead, I get this network DIRECT-96-HP M234 LaserJet - but - it requires a password that I do not have.  

Please advise how I can proceed to add the printer to my iPhone.

If you are having trouble adding your HP M234dwe printer to your iPhone for Wi-Fi printing, follow these steps to connect your iPhone to the printer:

Install HP Smart App:

• Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store on your iPhone.

Connect Printer to Wireless Network:

• Ensure your printer is turned on and close to your Wi-Fi router.
• Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone.
• Tap the “+” sign to add a new printer, and follow the prompts to set up a new printer.
• The app should detect the printer. Select your printer model (HP M234dwe) from the list.

Find the Wireless Network Password or PIN:

• If the DIRECT-96-HP M234 LaserJet network requires a password, you can find the WPS PIN commonly on the printer control panel or in the printed information sheet:
  • Look for a PIN on the printer control panel or the information sheet that printed during setup.
  • Enter the PIN in the prompt on your iPhone.

Printer Wi-Fi Direct Setup:

• If not connected to a network, you can use Wi-Fi Direct to connect your iPhone to the printer:
  • On your HP M234dwe printer, make sure Wi-Fi Direct is enabled. You can check the status on the printer’s control panel.
  • On your iPhone, open the Wi-Fi settings and select the Wi-Fi Direct network (e.g., DIRECT-96-HP M234 LaserJet).
  • Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password if prompted.

I was successful in linking the phone and printer. Your suggestions helped me find the password and that did the trick - after I realized I needed to enter the '-'s in numeric password.
