@robSchaby397, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're having trouble printing from your iMac to your HP ENVY 5010. Let's walk through some steps to get your printer connected and working properly.

Check Printer Connection

Make sure your HP ENVY 5010 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iMac:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Remove and Re-add the Printer on macOS

Sometimes re-adding the printer can resolve connection issues:

  • On your iMac, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP ENVY 5010 and click the minus (-) button to remove it.
  • Click the plus (+) button to add it again. Choose the printer from the list (preferably the one that says “Bonjour” or “AirPrint”).

Install the Latest HP Smart App

HP Smart helps manage your printer and ensures you have the latest drivers:

  • Download it from the Mac App Store.
  • Open HP Smart and follow the prompts to add your printer.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues:

  • Open HP Smart > Select your printer > Printer Settings > Advanced Settings.
  • Look for Tools > Printer Updates and install any available updates.

Reset Printing System (if needed)

If the issue persists:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
  • Re-add your printer afterward.
