To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details: 

Are you trying to print from a wireless-capable mobile device that supports Wi-Fi Direct?

Are you trying to print from a wireless-capable mobile device that does not support Wi-Fi Direct?

If the Wi-Fi Direct connection security for the printer is Automatic (the default setting), the mobile device will connect to the printer automatically and send the print job.

Let's try the steps below: On your printer, turn on Wi-Fi Direct by pressing  button.

1. Now, on your Android mobile, go to settings - Wireless option.
2. You will find few wireless networks available, look for the Deskjet 3730 and then try to connect to the same.
3. If asked for a password, punch in 12345678 and press connect. That should get your printer connected to the wi-fi direct network of your printer.

Now, use the Mopria plugin to print, or download and install the HP print service plugin from the play store and then try to print.

If the Wi-Fi Direct connection security for the printer is set to Manual, do one of the following to connect to the printer and print.

— If the Wi-Fi Direct light on the printer control panel keeps blinking, press the Wi-Fi Direct button ( ). The light will stop blinking and stay on.

— If the printer prints out a page with a PIN code, follow the instruction on the page.

For more in detailed, please go through the User guide of your printer and scroll down to chapter no. 7 Connect your printer page number 59 & 60.

Do you have a wireless network at your home?

Follow 'Connect a printer that does not have a touchscreen control panel > Step 2: Connect the printer with the HP Smart app' below to connect the printer to your wireless network:

If you may refer to Wi-Fi Direct (wireless connection without a router, the default password would likely be 12345678.

Just reset my password to join the HP Community but that password is not working to join the DeskJet 3700 series network.  Getting an error message that the password is incorrect.  How do I re-set that password?

I cannot connect to WIFI Direct.  The option does not appear in my settings.

I am using the HP app to set up the printer.  First it says that it found a new printer to set up.  Then it asks for the WIFI password.  I put that in and the next step is the printer password.  I never set up a printer password.  I’ve tried everything to try and find it and there is no solution.  I’ve called HP tech support.  I’ve looked at YouTube videos.  Nothing helps.  How do I find out my printer password???

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Wi-Fi Direct password. 

To better assist you - May I have the exact model name of the printer? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

If you have the HP Deskjet 3752, try these steps - 

Step 1 Try the default password - 12345678.

If the default password does not work, please print a Network Configuration page and look for a Wi-Fi or a Wireless Direct password.

Step 2  To print a Network Configuration page - From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button together to print the network configuration page.
