officejet 6500 wireless
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My officejet 6500 wireless is connecting fine via USB, but doesn't connect to my network wireless. [I have a warning scrolling by on the printer announcing that the ink cartriges are missing, is that a problem for the wireless connection].

Any troubleshooting steps would be helpfu and GREATLY appreciated.

Hi @Peter1953,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to print from your HP Printer on the wireless network.

This issue could occur if the wireless setup is not correct.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

First, you need to restore the network to defaults on the printer and then connect it to the network.

To restore network defaults:

1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status menu.

2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless Settings menu.

3. Select Restore Defaults.

4. Confirm the selection to restore defaults.

Now you may follow the steps in the link: Wireless Printer Setup

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
