officejet pro 7740

I have an Officejet Pro 7740 which i bought over a year ago. I cannot get it to stay connected to our various computers and devices. any time we want to print we have to go through a full start up proceedure. if we are succesful it will print but then as soon as it goes into sleep mode we have to start the whole process again.  its always been like this....we did not use it much in the first year and so it didnt strike us a sa major problem but recently we have realized that its a persistant issue..I assume its a problem with the network connection

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting printer connectivity issue.

  • How is the printer connected to the computer, Wireless or USB?
  • Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?

Meanwhile,

perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Reply with the requested information for more assistance.

Cheers.
