My printer wil not feed the paper and the screen is prompting me to feed more paper because it is "out of paper." It is not out of paper. This is happening to my normal feed tray as well as my photo feed tray. I have worked through the support page and completed all of the troubleshooting directions. It will not even print the printer test page within the tools setting.

Please advise, as I do not want to purchase another expensive printer right now. This one was performing fantastic until this problem began out of no where.

Thanks, R.J.

Hi @regan55,

As I understand you are having the printer not feeding paper from the main tray as well as from photo feed tray on your HP Photo Smart 7520 printer. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you,

Let's try to perform a hard reset on the printer

* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

* Remove USB cable, if present.

* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Causes:

Any of the following issues can cause paper feed issues:

  • The paper tray is not pushed into the product until it stops.

  • The paper tray is overloaded.

  • The paper is curled.

  • The print side or shiny side of the paper is not loaded face down in the tray.

  • The paper width guides are too tight against the paper stack.

  • The paper feed rollers are coated with dust.

  • Debris such as paper clips or bits of paper might have fallen into the paper path.

Please follow the steps in the order to resolve the issue: Here is the link.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be more than happy to assist you.
