Hi @gb_smd ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand misfeeding paper can be frustrating, but it's a common issue with printers and there are solutions! Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the paper misfeed on your HP ENVY 4500 E-All-in-One printer:

1. Check for jammed paper:

  • This is the most common culprit. Turn off the printer and unplug it. Look for jammed paper in the input tray, output tray, and around the ink cartridge area. Be gentle when removing jammed paper to avoid tearing.

2. Inspect the paper rollers:

  • Dust, debris, and worn rollers can cause paper misfeeds. Open the cartridge access door and locate the paper rollers behind the cartridges. With a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water, clean the rollers. Let them dry completely before restarting the printer.

3. Verify paper quality and settings:

  • Make sure you're using high-quality paper that meets the printer's specifications. Check the paper tray for any damaged or curled sheets. Ensure the paper size and type settings in your print job match the paper loaded in the tray.

4. Restart the printer:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve glitches. Turn the printer off, unplug it for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
