I am using google docs. I have the envelope add on. I have checked landscape. When I go to preview it shows an 8X11 size. When I click print and have the envelope in the printer it doesn't work.

Hp Envy 6550 is a notebook and not a printer. ???
Not sure how the Add-on works, though there is information for this on the 'net.
For example, How to create an envelope in Google Docs
In particular, I am not sure there is an 8x11 size envelope - the standard supports sizes are listed in
Google Doc > Add-ons > Envelopes
IF you actually have an 8x11 inch envelope, you will likely need to set the "Envelopes" size to Custom and then enter the dimensions.
Furthermore, if the setting to modify Media type / size is available on the printer, that setting must be adjusted
Open tray,
Lay in a stack of envelopes in the proper orientation (see the printer user guide),
Close tray,
Enter envelope size or "Modify" (or other wording) setting and select "Custom" to indicate to the printer that you are using a "Custom Size" envelope / paper size.
If the envelope is a standard size, that is, a size that is supported by the printer, select the size from the list of envelope sizes in the Google Docs menu.
Open the printer tray,
Lay in the stack of envelopes,
Close the tray,
Click Modify (wording varies greatly amongst printer models), select the paper / envelope size from the list.
