HP Smart Tank 670 All-in-One

after reading a lot of threads, about how the printer leaves white areas on the photos, I found a solution to print from the computer. I downloaded the old print program from the HP site, ignoring the SMART program and the pictures started coming out without white margins. but it didn't happen on SMART on my phone. the photos released from the phone become with white fields. it's about time someone at HP did something. Do you guys not read the forums with this big problem

Hi @Nickoss7,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've taken proactive steps to address the issue of white margins when printing photos on the HP Smart Tank 670 All-in-One printer. Your solution—using an older print program on your computer instead of the HP Smart app—has helped you eliminate the problem on the PC, but it persists on your phone.

  1. HP Smart App Defaults: The app on mobile devices often defaults to settings like "Fit to Page," which can introduce white margins.
  2. Driver Differences: Older software might bypass some constraints of the HP Smart app, giving more precise control over borderless printing.
  3. Mobile App Limitations: Mobile apps typically have fewer customization options compared to desktop applications.

Possible Solutions for Mobile Printing

Update App Settings:

  • Ensure that "Borderless Printing" is enabled in the HP Smart app on your phone.
  • Select the correct photo paper size in the print settings.

Firmware and App Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure the printer firmware and HP Smart app are updated to the latest versions.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. The problem with the Smart app remains, both for computers and mobile phones. Only the white box problem is solved by deleting Smart on the computer and installing the HP program from your site. Regarding the app and printer updates, that was done a long time ago. Please note the thousands of users with the same problem. This should be solved with an improvement in this really good Smart app.
