Operating System: iOS 12 - 12.0.1

I just bought a new HP printer and it will not connect to my iPhone Hotspot.  My computer connects to my hotspot just fine and my new printer will connect to my husband's iPHone hotspot.  I am lost as to why the printer won't connect to my phone's Hotspot.  Thoughts/suggestion? I called HP and they couldn't help me.

Hi,

An iOS HotSport provide internet connection tethering, it does not provide any local area networking which is required to allow printing over a local network and therefore not supported.

 

To print wirelessly without a router you may use the WiFi Direct feature of your printer and connect your iOS device to the printer's WiFi network as listed below:
