"Bluetooth Smart is turning on" message runs continuously on my HP Envy 5055 and never completes. I've rebooted several times, including unplugging and replugging in a different outlet. Once rebooted, the control screen functions normally until I try to turn "Bluetooth Smart" to "on." Then the above message runs continuously, again.

@DubEdwards, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Bluetooth Smart is used only during the printer setup and not for printing. I see that the error pops up on the printer, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Remove the ink cartridges and reset the printer
-
Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the power source.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE:
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
-
Turn the printer on.
-
Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
-
If you receive a prompt to print a calibration or alignment page, do so.
Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
