Hey everyone,

I’m trying to connect my HP Smart Tank 5100 Series printer to my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra hotspot, but the printer isn’t picking up the signal. Unfortunately, we can’t install personal printers on our work laptops, so I’m looking for an alternative way to make this work.

I’d really love to be able to print in my own space instead of having to walk across the building every time I need something printed. Has anyone faced a similar issue or have any suggestions on how I can get the printer to recognize the hotspot? Any other options I should try?

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer to the mobile hotspot.

Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the hotspot again.

 

1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.

 

2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.

 

3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.

 

Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

It didn't work. I wish I had the HP that had a touch screen. Unfortunately, I still can't get it to connect. If I connect my printer directly without installing the files on my work computer? They don't allow us to. The other thing I was thinking of is getting a hotspot from my cell phone company.
