HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One

On the iPhone used to setup the printer, i end up with a "send-to-hp-roam" printer, which does not work for printing. On all other iPhones on the same wifi, the printer shows correctly in airprint window.

How can I remove "send-to-hp-roam" and get the printer to show up correctly?

Hi @Daniel429

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the HP Roam service on your iPhone, which is used for cloud printing, but you want to remove this and ensure your printer shows up correctly in AirPrint.

Here’s how you can try to resolve the issue and remove the "send-to-hp-roam" printer:

1. Forget and Reconnect the Printer via Wi-Fi Settings

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Wi-Fi and find your printer in the list of available devices.
  • Tap on the printer and then Forget This Network.
  • After that, go back to the Wi-Fi settings and reconnect your iPhone to the correct Wi-Fi network (make sure it’s the same network your printer is connected to).
  • Now, attempt to print again from your AirPrint-compatible apps.

2. Remove Printer from HP Smart App

If you’ve set up the printer using the HP Smart app, try the following:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the printer that is showing as "send-to-hp-roam".
  • Tap on Settings (gear icon).
  • Find an option like Remove Printer or Forget Printer and select it.
  • After removing it, try setting up the printer again by following the instructions to add it via AirPrint.

3. Disable HP Roam Printing

If the printer is still appearing under "send-to-hp-roam", you might need to disable the HP Roam feature:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to Settings (gear icon).
  • Look for a setting related to HP Roam or Cloud Printing.
  • If you see HP Roam listed as active, try disabling or logging out of HP Roam.
  • Restart the iPhone and check if the printer appears correctly under AirPrint.

4. Reset the Printer Network Settings

If the above steps don’t work, try resetting your printer’s network settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings or Network Setup.
  • Look for an option like Restore Network Defaults or Reset Network Settings.
  • This will remove all Wi-Fi connections and reset the network settings, so you’ll need to reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
  • After the reset, try setting up the printer again via AirPrint.

5. Restart Your Printer and iPhone

  • Turn off your printer, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your iPhone as well.
  • Once both devices have restarted, check if the printer appears under AirPrint without showing "send-to-hp-roam".

6. Re-add the Printer to AirPrint

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
