recently from my phone, cant print from smart app,when I hit print from preview it comes up w a yellow triangle w exclamation mark and says busy next to it,,,,,i can print from lap top no problem

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printing issue. 

Let's try these steps -

1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the mobile devices.

2) Wait for 60 seconds.

3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.

5) Turn on the mobile devices.

Try updating your phone - Update your Android

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, try restarting the print spooler - 

1) On your Android device, tap the Settings icon, and then select Apps or Applications.
2) Select Show System Apps.
3) Scroll down the list, and then select Print Spooler.
Depending on your Android device, tap Storage, and then select Print Spooler.
4) Select Clear Cache and Clear Data.
5) Open the item you want to print, tap the menu icon , and then tap Print.
A print preview screen displays.
6) Next to Select a printer, tap the down arrow to view the printer list, and then select your printer.
