Hi folks!

I faced with an issue with using WiFi direct on MFU M28w

When I switch on my device I see SSID named HP-Setup<14>M28 LaserJet  instead of Direct-14-HP M28 LaserJet

I connected my device in HP Smart app but I can print, I only can scan and see settings

Printed configuration report page shows:

Wi-Fi Direct Setup

Status: Disabled

How can I activate Direct Wi-FI in order to get mobile printing opportunity?

Please be aware that I don`t have PC and WiFi router so should carry out all steps from my iPad

Hi,

You would first need to enable Wi-Fi Direct from a computer, as you do not have a such follow below steps to work around it.

Restart the printer, then connect to the listed HP-Setup<14>M28  network

From your browser go to http://192.168.223.1

Open the Networking tab.

Select Wi-Fi Direct and enable the feature.

Note the listed password, then forget the Setup network on your mobile device.

Now the Direct network becomes available.
