@JRFAV3, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like your printer might have lost its connection to your HP laptop, which can happen after updates or changes to your network settings. Here are the steps to troubleshoot this issue:
Check Printer’s Network Connection
Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your HP laptop. If your printer was previously working wirelessly, it may have lost its connection.
Check the printer’s display panel: Go into the printer’s menu and check the Wi-Fi status. If it's showing "Offline," you'll need to reconnect it to the network.
Restart Printer and Laptop
Turn off both the printer and your HP laptop. After 30 seconds, turn them back on and see if they reconnect.
Sometimes, this can resolve issues caused by temporary glitches.
Update Printer Drivers
Go to the HP support page and search for your printer model (HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a).
Download and install the latest drivers for Windows 11.
Restart your laptop after the installation.
Check the Printer’s IP Address
You can check the printer's IP address through the printer’s display screen. Sometimes the printer may get a new IP address, and the laptop may not be able to find it.
Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and choose Printer Properties. Look for the Ports tab to ensure the printer is connected to the correct IP address.
Reinstall Printer
Remove the printer from your laptop (right-click in Devices and Printers and choose Remove Device).
Reinstall the printer via Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add a Printer.
This can reset the connection and fix any broken configurations.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
