Wireless direct printer has error message No internet connection

HP wireless direct and Wi-Fi Direct are features that allow your Wi-Fi capable devices (for example smartphones, tablets, or computers) to make a wireless network connection directly to your printer without using a wireless router or access point.

If you do not have a dedicated WiFi router you can use the Wireless Direct/WiFI Direct feature to print/scan from the printer.

This establishes an Ad-hoc connection(one-to-one connection) between the printer and other devices.

But there would be no internet on the communicating device(for example smartphones, tablets, or computers).

You connect to your printer’s HP wireless direct or Wi-Fi Direct signal the same way you connect your Wi-Fi capable device to a new wireless network or hotspot.

From a computer, smartphone or tablet perspective, being connected to HP wireless direct or Wi-Fi Direct looks the same as being connected to a typical wireless network which has the HP printer already connected.

A print application (for smartphones and tablets) or printer software (for a computer) must be installed in order to use the printer over the HP wireless direct or Wi-Fi Direct connection.

But if you have a dedicated WiFi router, you can connect the Printer and other devices(smartphones, tablets, or computers) to the WiFi router and can have internet connectivity simultaneously.
