HP Pavillion X360 4GB Ram

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone from the community could help me basically I have been getting static noise/crackling sound coming from my laptop. It happens whenever I play a videos with audio.  It first happened a few months ago, I would be watching videos on Youtube with earphones plugged in and whenever there is audio a static/crackling sound would come from the headphones. I first thought that my earphones were damaged therefore purchased a new set however when I plugged in the new earphones the same problem happened. I used my brothers headphones (different brand) in case my new headphones were faulty however the issue still persisted. The crackling/static sound still happens when their is audio coming from the speakers. I know its an audio issue because if I play a video and have the audio on mute there is no crackling/static sound coming. I've contacted window support about this and the advisor went through a number of setting such as adjusting playback, updating drivers etc however no solution was found. I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and found a solution to this.

Hi Praveenbv,

I appreciate you reaching out, my product number is :2K6T8EA#ABU. I have made no software or hardware changes to the laptop. My drivers are all up to date having said that I followed the instruction you provided and ran an audio check however no issues were found. I then proceed to the next step which was to troubleshoot sound problems and whilst it was checking a message popped up saying that "Turn off Sound effects and enhancements". I went ahead did that and so far there is no issue with the audio. However, I would need to give it sometime to really test as the crackling audio issue comes and goes. So I'll provide another update soon.

Many Thanks,

Arham09

Hi Praveenbv,

Just when I thought the issue was resolved it has came back again. I'm still getting the crackling noise from the laptop and my earphones. Please advise on alternative solutions.

Hi@Arham09Arham09,

`We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to be checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
