Hello:  if the F36 Download does not complete after starting the extraction (below is the almost last pane, the extraction is the last pane and completes in one second).  I suggest HP Notebook System BIOS Update is not compatible with Windows 11.  Would you agree ?  Best regards

Hello @t75drb1

Yes I agree, F.36 is only compatible with Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit).

Hello:  thanks for the confirmation.  I was attempting to suggest that the HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update utility software, not the BIOS was not compatible with Windows 11.  Since the Utility fails and we do not get to the BIOS creation.  Is this too much of a reach to consider ?

If it is I wish we would have concluded this a few Posts earlier. It is odd, I moved from F35 to F36 on 6-23-22 then to Windows 11 on 10-8-22.  So F36 did work with Windows 11.  Then from F36 to F37 10-27-22 and as I have said too many times lost Youtube audio through Google Chrome once on F37 and still a problem on F38.  So for a few weeks F36 and Windows 11 through multiple Windows 11 restarts was compatible.

Might there be a HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update utility software compatible with Windows 11 ?  Best regards

Hello @t75drb1

After all our experiments, I would suggest the following ...

(1) Backup < ALL > personal data (documents/pictures/videos etc...) to external <USB hard drive>

(2Please reinstall your operating system !

You need (another Windows computer) to prepare bootable <USB flash drive>

An unused or empty USB flash drive with at least 32 GB storage capacity is required.

Hello:  I have been pondering your suggestion for most of the day.  Researching the actual steps and how much re-install (for example Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and more) and reconfiguration of Windows I will need to do.  This is a lot of time (probably 6 to 8 hours).  I will continue to consider this and reply on or before Friday 12-16-22.  Best regards

Hello @t75drb1

Do you have a valid license for Microsoft Office? Was this included in the HP scope of delivery?

Hello @t75drb1

Please contact Microsoft to ensure that you can reinstall Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 after HP Cloud Recovery and that the existing license will not be lost!
