After updating Windows 10 my microphone and Fn+F8 (it should mute my mic and light up an LED) stopped working. It couldn't find my microphone.
After finding this post and doing what it said my microphone is now working and I can be heard

but Fn+F8 still doesn't do anything 😥 Before the update everything worked. How can I repair it?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the mute button is not working after a recent Windows update.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
What is the version of Windows installed on your computer? (Like 1903, 1909, or 2004)
I recommend update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

My windows version is 2004 (build 19041.572).
Before updating my BIOS I have to mention that I have my 512gig SSD split in half, on the other half I have a Linux distro. Currently, I don't use it, because I'm waiting for a new release of that distro, so I don't care if I lose it anyway (I know you only support problems with Windows). So should I do something else before updating the BIOS to not break anything?

Updating the BIOS should not break anything on the operating system level as it is done outside the operating system.
Cheers!

I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when the mute key was working fine.
Follow the steps in the below article to perform a system restore.
