You stated that you used the Windows 7 driver as well. Did you download it in compatibility mode? Here is a link that explains using Windows 7 drivers on Windows 8.

You may also want to post your problem at the HP Commercial Forum for more visibility. That link will take you to the forum specific for your computer.

I got the same problem. HP 620 Notebook with IDT HD SOUND and INTEL SERIES 4 GRAFIC. There ist no sound with WINDOWS 8 64 bit. Windows 8 can not find any problem with insatalation or drivers automatically. Sound settings seem ok. When testing the speaker there is no failior regarded. But no sound at all. The point I can not understand the same system with the same HP drivers with Windows 8 32 bit works fine. Wonderful HD sound und HD video. With Windows 8 64 bit sound does not work and flash video is in slow motion. VLC plays video in normal speed but without sound.

Your computer is an Enterprise model.  As these are the consumer forums, I would recommend that you post this in the HP Enterprise Support Forums for better coverage.

You can access the enterprise support forums at the following link.

My Word! After About three weeks of trying all sorts of things, this actually worked. A simple Thank you does not do you justice, but Thanks anyway.
