I have been online with geek squad all afternoon. He figured out that the HP Coolsense software isn't working properly. I have to try backing up my files and doing a refresh on my computer to see if that works.

Hi @Treebru23,

As the Geek Squad determined it was the Coolsense software causing the issue, before attempting a refresh, I would try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Coolsense software. Here is a link to the HP ENVY Notebook - m7-k211dx Software and Drivers. Make sure Windows 10 is selected as the OS and under software solutions, you will find the Coolsense software. Just to let you know you have two options when doing a refresh, one of which is to retain your files. You can backup your files using the Microsoft backup tool at any time. Here is a link to guide you through that process. Back up and restore your files (from microsoft.com).  Please let me know the results.

I had the same problem with my HP ENVY.  I fixed it by uninstalling program HP touchpoint manager using the program uninstall on Windows 10.  It immediately stopped fan from running fast and the temperature of air coming out of vent went from warm-hot to warm-room temperature.

I have the same problem and it's a terrible noise.  It is mind numbing and basically horrible to do any work on the PC.  I've had it a year and half.  I've already had the fan replaced a few months after i bought it, and it sounds like it is crapping out again.  I bought this machine at the recommendation of the Microsoft employees at the store.  And It's one of the worst buying decisions i've made.  For them to fix the fan, they have to back everything up, and then totally reboot your pc, takes up to a week, and then you have to pray they put everything back. ANd now, a year later, again with the noise.  Who can deal with this every year?  And now I'll have to PAY!  It's ridiculous.  If I had the money, I'd just toss the piece of crap and buy a MAC.  I can tell you, my next PC WILL be a MAC.  I would not recommend this piece of garbage to anyone.  2 fans in a year and half, really?  No more HP.  Very disappointing. You would think after all this time, HP could get a fan right.  I'm pretty pissed.
