My speakers have gone very quiet, even at full volume. They work for a few secs and then go quiet

Thanks so much for sharing this solution.  I've just wasted so much of my Sunday evening troubleshooting, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and trying (unsuccessfully) to communicate with the virtual assistant 😞

This fixed the problem in just 2 minutes.

The sound system seems working after using AMD Utility. 

IT support advised me to update BIOS and sound driver.

Should I follow the advice?

I noticed the dimness as well but after it went into sleep mode for the night it went back to full strength for me.
