Hello UB6424,
Thanks for your input. I tried this one but unfortunately it doesen't work either.
I don't know if it related but, since the audio problem started a error message pops up at saying " Application Cannot run – This Thunderbolt application is not in use anymore and can be safely uninstalled."

Hello @JokerJudas
(1) Check for windows updates
- Click on Start ⊞ and select Settings⚙.
- Select Windows Update from the menu on the left.
- Click on Check for updates. If Windows Update says your PC is up to date, then all current updates are installed on your PC.
(2) Check windows device manager and send a screenshot(s) of devices that are 'unknown' with Exclamation mark with hardware IDs !
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

Hello... I wanted to chime in...
I am having an identical issue as the original poster. I installed a fresh copy of windows 11 on my HP Elitebook 840 G6.
I have done all the windows updates. Installed all the drivers for the laptop via the HP support assistant. Doesn't work. Still says "no output devices found"
I have uninstalled the realtek drivers from device manager and tried installing the drivers via setup again, and doesn't work.
Under System Information -> Components -> Sound Devices: I see the Realtek High Definition Audio, listed. And status OK.
Under Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers: I see the Realtek(R) Audio. And it shows the device as working properly.
The only thing that has an exclamation point under device manager is under:
Device Manager -> System Devices -> Inter(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED.
With an error:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
FW did not sent FW Ready notification.
I don't know if that has anything to do with my issue.
Since I've been tinkering so much with this machine, I completely formatted the SSD and installed windows 11 again.
It's showing the same symptoms (expected). Thanks all for the tips in this thread. Just hoping I can have sound back on my laptop again.
Thanks

Hello @CesarRod
thanks for the information 😊
Solution (A) Please download / unzip and install :
Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) Driver
Solution (B) Not sure if this is the right driver for your Intel® Compute Card?
Run Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to automatically detect driver updates.
Please report your results

Hello... Thanks a million... This worked for me.
It wasn't simple... But here is what I did:
- I downloaded the SST drivers you pointed me to and extracted them.
- I tried updating the driver of the Intel SST OED under System Devices by going to:
- Update driver
- Browse my computer for drivers
- Let me pick...
- Have Disk
- select the folder of the downloaded drivers. Clicking ok and go through the dialogs to update.
- Right away I got a code 10 error and restarted.
- This didn't work.
- Then I tried updating the Intel SST Audio Controller under System Devices (with the same steps as #2). And this worked. The sound card started working right away. I restarted for good measure and sure enough, everything is in working order.
BTW... The Intel SST OED is still showing Code 10, but I don't know what that is for.
Thanks again for the help. Maybe this can help the original poster.
