Product: pavillian laptop 15z
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have only had my brand new sent from china laptop a couple of weeks and suddenly yesterday the speaker started to go out. yes I have restarted it a couple of times and di the troubleshot and it says it detects nothing. im not computer savy and don't feel I should have to be with a brand new computer it should be working great

I think I saw another post from you. I couldn't answer because I don't know what is your pavillian laptop 15z . Please use the following way to find out model/product of your machine

Looks like it is a CTO machine. Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.


(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

           https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100001-100500/sp100144.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

looks like my fix was short lived. got back online this evening and I can hardly hear youtube.. any other suggestions before I have to send this back. I wish I had gotten my mac that I originally was going to get..
