Hello @dblackmanc1950
Information:
The battery could be deeply discharged or has an electronic defect, could even be a short circuit. This can also happen with new batteries.
In all cases, the BMS (battery management system) refuses the charging process for safety reasons
Please follow instructions and answer questions exactly.
(1) Can you do a test? Start the notebook as before without the battery. If Windows is started, insert the battery.
(2) What happens now?
(3) What does the battery icon in Windows show in the lower right corner?
(4) If the notebook can be operated normally, leave it on for at least 10 minutes. Then turn off the notebook. Wait 2 minutes and then turn it back on.
(5) What happens now?
