OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello and good day,
I've
identified a critical firmware defect in the CPU power state management - the system shuts down/crashes at random, or hangs indefinitely when using the balanced or battery saver power plans - Otherwise remaining stable under the performance plan, but which creates its own set of thermal issues during warmer days and or heavier workloads. Said issues with crashing and or hanging persists across Windows 11 and Linux, regardless of workload - strongly indicating a BIOS-level defect in dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS).

  • Model: HP Omen 16-c0000 (343L1AV)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
  • Current BIOS version: AMI F.27 Rev. A (Possibly also applies to previous versions)
  • OS tested: Windows 11 25H2 Build 26200, and Major Linux distributions
  • Affected power plans: Balanced, Energy Saver, or similar
  • 100% stability over 12+ hours when on Performance plan

As this is a clear regression - I request a firmware update and fix. Thanks in advance.

Hello Steffen, and thank you.

I am currently limited to this being my only option, so I'm hoping someone with the capacity to solve such low level issues would be willing to help me out if/when possible.

Regards!
