I've got the same problem that many others have reported here.. Tried everything. Couldn't update BIOS. I bought a new Kingston NV3 500 Gt M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe. Don't really know if it's the right kind to replace the existing HDD, but I just keep getting the same screen with the same text. No boot device etc. I've tried all the suggestions given to other people, but nothing helps. This is a 2 yr old computer, so shouldn't be so broken that I should just throw it away. (Btw, I've been fixing the computers of friends and family for decades, but now I have Parkinson's Disease - 7th year going - and it's affected my cognition so badly that following suggestions and concentrating on anything have gotten so hard that it's getting really, really hard getting anything done... This is my dad's computer [he's turning 90 this month], so I thought I'd do this for him no matter what). Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions as to what to try next, please, I'm listening.

Best, Skyla

Fully disconnecting the old 2.5" HDD is a top fix for NVMe invisibility on HP 17-c0000 laptops, as it eliminates boot conflicts that hide the Kingston NV3 in BIOS. Reseat the NV3 firmly, insert at 30° angle, press flat, secure screw nicely (Avoid overtightening by testing: wiggle shouldn't move it post-install, loose causes non-detection, tight risks damage.). Enter BIOS, disable Legacy/CSM support if listed under Boot Options (forces UEFI mode for NVMe), and set NVMe/SSD to top boot priority if appear then Save and exit BIOS, restart, and check

If the issue persists after these exact steps, someone in the community will likely step in with hands-on help soon, don't take stress over it, especially with everything you're managing. Be happy even when things not looking good.

Thank you very much for trying to help, and for your kind words 🙂

Sorry to say, but your hints didn't help. I tried to follow your instructions exactly, but no, my laptop won't recognise the SSD at all.

Any other suggestions?
