Sorry, guess I didn't wait long enough. I'm finally getting it to reset. Here's to hoping that it works this time! (: Thank you so much for helping me so far. I really didn't want to completely reset the computer since I had a lot of insanely important files on there that will be impossible to recover... And I was dumb enough not to save a copy.. Learned my lesson.. At the rate it's going at though, looks like it'll take all night to reset. It is probably just best to buy a new one, even if this does reset (;

Oh, never mind.. It literally just told me it failed resetting and to try again later. It was at 10%

Which specific step in that tutorial I linked , you reached?

So... I was able to get it to reset finally... But it's reaaaaaaaaally slow... And I'm still barely able to get it to boot up....

Install HP support assistant software from here: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/pl...

Update drivers one by one.

Do battery test and let me know the results, cell voltages, cycle count, capacity etc.

So... I took a picture of it, I hope that's alright...Untitled.png

Except for battery age and deceased capacity I don't see why battery should be causing the issues you're having.

Ate you within warranty?

Have you reload BIOS to default settings?

I've had that computer for years, so I'm pretty sure I'm out of a warranty... And yes, I have done that

Other than seeing if there is any latest BIOS version listed in your HP support page and thereon updating BIOS, unfortunately I have no other suggestions.

I would also suggest you to get notebook checked by certified technician to identify the issue.
