HP 14 Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Only been using this laptop for 9 days since Christmas for a Christmas present.

AMD Ryzen 3 Processor, 4GB System Memory, 1 TB storage.

Taking forever to boot up. The laptop did a C: fix January 2 (Saturday).

The laptop takes so long to reach the "please wait" screen that it goes to sleep on itself. Mouse also stops responding occasionally.

Please help! I don't want to go back to a Chromebook, but if there isn't a fix, I must.

@Lewis95

From your comments, it sounds like windows attempted a file system repair on "C" already -- which is very bad news for a new laptop, indicating strongly that the drive is already failing.

You should definitely NOT be having problems like this with a new laptop -- but unfortunately, there is nothing we can do from here to address this.

You need to contact HP Customer Support to see about having the laptop replaced or refunded -- and unfortunately, HP now makes that a difficult thing to do here in the US.

HP does not provide links for phone support in the US because of Scammers that were harvesting those numbers, calling customers, and charging them money for services they did not need.

To get a phone number, you have to go to the HP site listed below, create a support case, and after that, HP will provide contact information, possibly including a phone number.
