Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop keeps Locking and shuts down. Ran a systems test. Everything passed. Ran a components test and the battery check yielded this message:

Primary - Replace (40)

Failure ID:  MBXQ84-87NANK-GXGK6K-C08303

Product ID:  X7X01UA#ABA

Primary Battery

Is this the large battery that clips in the back or is there another one inside?

Hi:

It is the main (external) battery.

The internal (RTC) battery is one of those coin cell types that keeps the time, date and BIOS settings.

You would not receive a 24 character failure ID code if that battery failed.

Remove the battery, and run the PC off the power adapter and see if the locking issue goes away.

A dead battery should not be causing any performance problems other than the PC shutting down due to lack of power.
