Hi @oayeni,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you’re having trouble where your HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13 automatically powers on after being put to sleep or shut down. To help stop the PC from turning on automatically, please try the following steps:"

Step 1: Turn off Fast Startup:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
  • Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable".
  • Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)".
  • Click Save changes.

Step 2: Disable Wake Timers:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Click "Change plan settings" next to your active power plan.
  • Select "Change advanced power settings".
  • Expand "Sleep > Allow wake timers", and set it to Disable.

Step 3: Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart the PC and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Look for settings related to "Wake on LAN", "Wake on USB", or "Auto Power On", and disable them if enabled.
  • Save and exit BIOS.

If the issue persists after trying the steps above, let me know and I can guide you further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
