Can you kindly please send me a SP106206.exe? My BIOS is bricked now and I'm looking for the working BIOS file... Thank you.

I don't think there is a "working bios file" for the F.45 BIOS. It appears that it worked on some machines but bricked others. I don't know why, maybe some difference in the motherboards. Once the board is bricked, it can't be recovered by flashing either F.42 or F.45 via USB. If your machine is in warranty, then you need to contact HP to get it repaired. If it's out of warranty, then there is no known solution at this point.

I has been 3 months since HP removed the F.45 bios version from the support site. I have no confidence that they will ever release a fixed bios version.

My machine is still on warranty, but before send it to HP I've nothing to lose for trying USB Recovery mode with F.45 if I get it... 🙂

If you get it, send it to me please

I would like to give it a shot as well

thanks!

Warning: If your laptop is currently working, do NOT attempt to install this bios version F.45!!!

And if your laptop is already bricked, then these files are probably not going to help. But since they were requested, here they are.

I shared the BIOS version F.45 files here:
http://ge.tt/8iONfkA3

bios_F45_sp106206.zip = The original file from the HP support site. Doesn't work on all computers.

BIOS-F.45-usb-image.zip = Image of USB recovery drive created by the above program.

The USB drive image was created using ImageUSB:

https://www.osforensics.com/tools/write-usb-images.html

It was created from an 8GB USB drive, so I think it can only be restored to a drive that is 8GB or larger. If the sp106206 program works on your computer, then use it to create a recovery drive. If that program just exits when you try to run it, you can try running it on a different computer, or you can try to use the usb image that I shared.

Thank you for trying to help me. Unfortunately both methods failed 🙁

There’s a new update (f46) available.

Did you guys manage to install it?

thanks

Nope, mine is already at service centre 🙁

Curses! The new version F.46 got my hopes up, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me. It behaves exactly the same as version F.45 did:

- The setup program still only works on certain computers.

- When I boot from a USB recovery drive, it flashes the bios image, attempts to verify 3x, then reports that verification failed.

It produces a log file on the USB drive in "HP\BIOSUpdate\HpBiosUpdate.log". Looking in that file, it looks like the verify operation always fails with this message:

"Verify of Block 46 Failed"

If anyone else tries this, please check the log and let me know if yours also fails on block 46.

Could you please upload the image file for f46 please? I’ve tried to run the setup in several computers, no success

thanks
